The story on Boutique of Paws
Kelley was inspired by her Chihuahua, Tiana, in 2002 to start designing her own
dog sweater creations that not only had to be comfortable, they needed to fit
well and look great. And of course, they needed to be in the reach of everyone’s
budget.
She decided to do this after finding a huge lack of quality handmade goods in the
market for her own pet. So at first, she just designed for Tiana and her friends.
But she soon found herself flooded with request for orders from all over.
Boutique of Paws has grown into a business that designs, distributes and markets
quality knit goods to dog boutiques across the globe. Now you can find our designs
in over 100 retail locations and 20 plus countries.
In 2008 Boutique of Paws added matching hair bows for some of our popular sweaters
and tankinis. They are all handmade of high quality grosgrain ribbon on doggy
hair bands. We have been impressed with how these bows stay in our dog’s hair
compared to other styles we have tried and cannot wait to offer them to the
public. Another great addition you will see in 2008 that is being added by
popular request is our new size XL/Large for dogs size 25-40+ pounds. They
became available when our 2008 winter/spring line launched in February 2008
adding seven new sweaters. Fiesta, Tres Chic, Biscuit Basket, DogHouse,
Hide N’ Seek, Sweet Shoppe & Scottie Dog. Though the XL/Large can be ordered
in any design we carry.
All of Boutique Of Paws sweaters, tankinis and blankets are handmade by local
artists in Chincoteague Island, VA. We use Merino wool, cotton, bouluce,
Chenille, cut Chenille, Suede yarn; cotton/acrylic/nylon blends and silk blends.
